INTRODUCTION:

Odoo 16 Sales had some vital user experience and functionality improvements that eased the module’s work. And in Odoo 17 Migration, we have found the same.

In our journey of exploring Odoo 17 Sales new features, we will thoroughly include a comparison of Odoo 16 and 17 features in the sales modules. To get a better understanding of the new Sales features in Odoo 17 Migration.

SALES WITHOUT PRICELISTS

Sales flows can now work without using price lists.

1. Sales → Order Menu → Quotation Submenu → Without pricelists →  Save & Confirm.

2. Create a new sales order without a Pricelist.

We can create a Sale order without entering the Pricelist, whereas in v16, the Pricelist field is mandatory, here it will save without adding the Pricelists.

PRODUCT DOCUMENTS

Share documents with your customers automatically when sending a quotation or once the order is confirmed by linking documents to your products. 

1. The Sales Module in Odoo 17 now allows users to generate and add product documentation.

2. These documents are sent to clients upon placement of a sales order; they can be downloaded, and printed.

When we click the Document smart button, it will redirect us to the Product page.

Create a New sales order → Save and Confirm → Click the “Preview” Button.

When we click the Preview smart button, it will direct us to the Website page, where we can see the Documents smart button, in the Product page.

ADD PRODUCTS FROM CATALOG

Add products quickly and easily with a catalog view.

1. Sales → Order Menu →  Quotation Submenu → New Button.
2. Sale Order using the “Catalog” button provided inside the “Order Lines” tab.

Instead of adding the products by typing their name, we can use the Catalog to select the products and add them to the order line.

When we click the Catalog button, it will redirect us to the Product page, where we can Add the Products, Remove the Products, Increase or Decrease the Quantity, and choose the Product Category.

All the details will be shown in the Order line of the Sale order.

QUOTATIONS MASS CANCELLATION

Cancel multiple quotations at once from the list view.

1. On the Sales Order page, selecting the Multiple Quotation, the Action button is shown now.
2. Under the Action button, the cancel quotations option is newly added.

When we are clicking the Action button, it will list the options like Export, Duplicate, Delete, Cancel Quotation, etc,...

While clicking the Cancel Quotation option, the cancel quotation pop will be shown.

While clicking the Cancel Quotation option, the quotation will move to the Cancel state.

PRICELIST: CHATTER

Added the chatter on price lists to ease collaboration

1. Sales → Products Menu → Price list submenu
2. Click New button 

Here the Chatterbox will show the details of the Customer who initiated the Sale order, or made any changes in the Sale order all will be shown in the Pricelist chatter.
